Georgina Leslie (nee Borthwick)

Georgina Leslie (nee Borthwick) was born on the 18th December 1975 at the Simpson Memorial Hospital in Edinburgh. Christened at Borthwick Parish Church on 14th March 1976.

Georgina started her education at Heriot Primary School before heading to St Katherines, St Andrews in 1985 and then St Leonards, St Andrews in 1988.

Georgina enjoyed her time there, achieving 8 GCSEs and 3 A-Levels as well as being Captain of House and Captain of Athletics.

A gap year followed - a cookery course was completed at the Edinburgh School of Cookery followed by 8 months traveling in Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and Bali. In between this there were part time jobs.
Georgina went to the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1995 to study Countryside Management and graduated with a 2:2 in July 1998. Following a summer of work experience, she went on to achieve a Masters of Land Economy at the University of Aberdeen from 1998 to 1999.

Georgina's full time career started on the 4th October 1999 in the Estate Agency Department of Strutt and Parker, Edinburgh followed by 5.5 years with Smiths Gore. This enabled Georgina to pass her RICS exams and become a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in May 2002.

After five and a half years at Smiths Gore, Georgina decided she wanted to take a break from the profession and left the company in June 2006.

A 7 month 'gap' year followed with a trip to China and several holidays in Scotland before a complete change of profession to the wine world, starting with Corney and Barrow on the 30th January 2007. Since joining the company Georgina has completed the Intermediate Wine and Spirit Education Course with distinction and starts the Advanced course in the Autumn of 2008.

On a personal level, Georgina married Malcolm Leslie on 6th December 2003 at Borthwick Parish Church followed by a reception at Crookston House. Malcolm and Georgina have lived at Beechwood, Dewartown since 2003.

Malcolm and Georgina had a little boy - Alfred Ralph in January 2010.
